Course Reserve Request

In order to process reserve items in a timely manner, a lead time of 48 hours must be given for items to be placed on the reserve shelf.  We cannot hold items in reserve indefinitely. Please include the date when the reserves item can be removed from reserve. The Reserve cycle begins every fall. New reserve requests must be filled out at this time. Personal items will be returned through interoffice mail if not picked up at the end of semester. Professors take responsibility for Copyright Issues.

Library Reserve Copyright Policies:

Material to be placed on library reserve must fit within the Copyright Guidelines of the Fair Use, 17 U.S.C. 401 (10 and (30 and library policies.
According to the ALA Model Policy Concerning College and University Photocopying for Classroom, Research and Library Reserve Use, at the request of a faculty member, photocopies of articles or chapters of books owned by the library may be placed on reserve for a specified time without requiring permission from the copyright owner. It is the responsibility of faculty to obtain copyright permission for articles or other copyrighted material that will be used in their courses for an extended period of time (more than four (4) consecutive semesters). Library staff may refuse items for reserve if they are in violation of copyright law. No more than six (6) copies of a copyright article may be kept on reserve. All copied materials should contain a complete citation and notice of copyright. The number of copies of a monograph placed on reserve should not exceed 10% of the number of students in the class. Professors take responsibility for Copyright Laws.
