Making remote online ILL requests using the reQuest software.
You must meet eligibility standards, and the following requirements to use the reQuest system for ILLs:
  • You must be a student, faculty or staff member of NVCC.
  • You must have a library card.
  • You must have available a computer with an internet connection.
  • You must have the correct link available(listed below)
  • You must be able to find the specific item you're seeking within reQuest search engine.
Note: If you cannot find the specific item(title) in the reQuest database, you may choose from the Options drop down menu Blank ILL Request, fill in the form with as much information as possible,and submit the form. Otherwise, you must use one of the alternative methods to make your request.

 

The steps necessary to make your ILL request using reQuest are:

Choose the following link to the reQuest software for ILLs.

  • Find the specific item you want to get using the reQuest search engine.
  • Once you found the item you're looking for, click on the Request This Item button or choose Request This Item from the options drop-down menu.
  • An online form will be presented, which should be filled out completely.
  • All of the field names which appear in red on the form must be filled in.
  • Be sure to enter a user name and password if you want to use tracking.
  • When you complete the form, click on the Submit Button to send it.
  • If you were successful, the system tells you, and your ILL request is done.
  • If you were unsuccessful, you must fix any errors and Submit the form again.

 

Tracking an ILL request simply allows you to check the status of your loan and the procedure is described in the following steps:
  • From the reQuest Main Catalog select ILL Request Tracking from the options drop-downbox.
  • In the box provided, type in your name the one you used to initiaite the original request with the exact spelling(not case sensitive)
  • Type in your password, the one you assigned when you made the original request. This is case sensitive, and must be exactly the same as the one originally chosen.
  • Click on the Submit button to see the status for every pending transaction asociated with the name and password you just entered.
