Digital Video
Learn "tips and tricks" for shooting great video with a digital video camera in this 2 1/2-hour class. NVCC’s expert, Ed Nolan, will lead the class and share his expertise, including his list of “do’s and don’ts. The college has four cameras available for training. Learn how to use USB Drive and backup Personal Folders
Learn how to use a USB flash drive! These devices, also referred to as thumb drives, can store an enormous amount of data in a very small compact form factor. 1000 floppy's worth of information can be stored on a single 1GB stick. In this class you will learn the basics on how to use a flash drive. From plugging it in to actually coping files and managing those files. During part 2 of the class, you will learn how to back up one of the most critical files on your system - the Personal Folder email file. This file can vary in size depending on how many emails your save to it and unfortunately is not backed up on the server as some of the other emails are. PST's reside on the local drive and are thus susceptible to drive failure. Learn how to prevent a potential disaster by being pro-active and backing up this file on a regular basis!

Vista
This one-hour session will introduce the new Vista version of WebCT. Faculty will log into a Vista course as a student to experience the look and feel of a Vista course from the student’s perspective. Faculty will have the opportunity to compare the current version to the new Vista version using email, discussions, content modules, etc. Finally, faculty will view the Build and Teach tabs within Vista to the introduce the designer/instructor interface. This session is scheduled in a computer lab (24 stations) and faculty will have a hands-on experience.
