Database Administrator
A Database Administrator is an IT professional who manages databases of information for an organization. This position is also known as a database analyst or database developer. A DB admin must know which data to store, how to organize the data, secure it and preserve it, and provide the data in order to answer questions or help in decision-making processes.

Duties of a database administrator include the installation, performance, maintenance and security of a database management system. The position requires knowledge and proficiency with SQL (Structure Query Language), how to plan and design a database, create databases and objects such as tables, forms, and views, create interfaces and reports to input and view the data. DB admin is highly technical and requires understanding OSs, various database applications, and tools.
